Other than football (soccer), sports in the Middle East are mostly underfunded by the government, ignored by sponsors, marginalized by the media and not practiced at school. If things are bad in Egypt they are much worse in Yemen, especially if we're talking about gymnastics. I didn't even know Yemen practiced the sport and one of its gymnasts in internationally recognized with an amazing and inspiring story.
