Maid locked up without pay for 17 years in Saudi Arabia

Kusuma Nadina travelled in 1994 from Sri Lanka to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia to work as a maid for a Saudi family. Over the next 17 years Nadina was locked-up and forced to work without pay. Her daughter was 8 years-old when her mother left to Saudi, now 25 she started a search that managed to save her mother from slavery. You know what is even more shocking? The compensation Nadina received for her "labor": $19,000. In other words, she is being paid $100 a month.
